Converted farmhouse Bantega
Little remained of the authentic head-rump farmhouse. The main house had lost its upstairs room through the addition of a lowered floor on ground level, and with that the characteristic lay-out of the façade. On the inside, it looked more like a modern house than a historic farm. This project restored the original lay-out of the house, including a new upstairs room. The original dairy was restored. The course of the Tjonger River can be followed beautifully from the upstairs room. From the detailing and use of materials, it is clear that these are contemporary measures.
