Jelle de Jong started in 1987 as an independent architect in Lemmer. Today, the company has a management team of two: Kees de Haan and Wytze Bouma. Jelle de Jong is still closely involved with the company. In addition, we have four professionally trained employees. With this team we try to create beautiful things in a pleasant atmosphere.
We respect our client. A good project exists by the grace of inspiring clients. When our clients give us an assignment, we want them to stimulate and entice us, and we want them to keep us focussed during the entire process through a constant dialogue.
We respect the environment in which a building is placed. We not only look at the context that is immediately visible but we also take historic background and local building traditions into consideration.
An existing building deserves respect. Using clear and appropriate interventions we try to conserve where possible and to renovate where necessary. The old is enriched with something new, ensuring a new lease of life.
We also respect modern building methods and technologies. We are familiar with building traditions but prefer to give them a modern interpretation using contemporary materials.
Finally, we take pride in ourselves and in our profession. Sometimes it may be necessary to stand firm by a point of view that is embedded in knowledge and creativity. We are not afraid to try and persuade people of our vision using the strength of our convictions.
